Extreme incompetence

Tried to claim I never turned my car in. Pretty stupid of them when they can track the car and track that they were renting it out. Finally sorted it out then they overcharged me. Never dealing with this unethical company again

Scam company

I made an online reservation with a good deal just 540$ with taxes and everything. When i arrive to pick up the car they told me they didn’t have the car i reserve online. So they tried to scam me with a 2k$ car rental. I will not rent with them again.

Surprise charged

On several occasions, I have been charged for damage that I did not do and smoking that did not happen. Your final, post-inspection invoice after the car is returned may not be what you get charged. Completely unethical company.

Chauffeur service is pretty good; Wheely is better

I’ve used maybe 10-20 times. It’s not as good as Wheely but for cities they don’t operate it’s good.

In order to use the app to pick up a vehicle you need to enter a 2FA code sent to your email. If you leave the login screen for the app, the app resets and sends a new code which you cannot get with switching to the email, which leaves the code entry screen which resets the code ans sends a new code. Is is impossible to login with having a second device to check the email code. Who is carrying two cell phones and have their email on both? Simply ridiculous that someone at SIXT didn’t think to test this

Worst customer service in the history of capitalism

There is no way to communicate with any person at this company / you can’t even get the phone number to the retail store - send email via app and nobody responds - send 5 of them back to back and nobody responds. Get someone on phone and call drops out, four times What an absolute failure of an operation

Life Savers

I was having an extremely stressful morning and needed to rent a car abruptly, and was shocked at how simple they made it for me to get a really great car arranged so quickly and short notice. The LAX shuttle took me over to their location and I was in a gorgeous BMW SUV for a super reasonable price within 40 minutes of landing. I extended the rental because of more life complications and had no issues- Princella helped me get quickly checked out when I dropped the car back off and overall I am just very pleased and happy with my experience(: Will book again for sure !!

Sixt fraud

its been 15days sixt took my 200$ deposit on hold and now every time i call there customer care services they listen all my issue and every time they disconnect call everytime….

DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE

I was charged an extra $75 plus associated fees because I rented a car for three days and returned it in under two. The person at the counter told me I’d get the difference back. I really liked SIXT until now. I cannot use them again. Beware. Customer service gave me this “reminder that you paid in advance” and that it’s too bad for me.

SO MANY 1 STAR REVIEWS RECENTLY!! IDK WHO SCAMMING WORSE APPLE OR SIXT, you guys have so many bad reviews, Little to no response, not that it’ll help 9/10, I’m laughing writing this right now because how are you charging the customer to do literally every bill it takes the COMPANY to make money!!! Why are you charge $15 in a “Domestic Security fee” but then proceed to process $200+ for a “Security Deposit” lmaoooo huhhh 🤔, then Charge the customers for the facility that as if they are there EVERYDAY!! We are the one helping to keep your company running all these “extra charges” and “hidden fees” are ridiculous… treat your customers better . “ Airport Concession Recovery Fee” & “ Airport Concession Recovery Fee Surcharge”??? THAT JUST SCREAMS GREEDY!! Can’t wait for another car rental to actually come in and show how it’s done.

App is useless for regular renters

App used to let regular renters who have prepaid get a barcode and go directly to their car - was removed 6 months ago. Every other car app lets their regular renters skip the line but I guess Sixt have decided otherwise….booking is ok, but car pickup is completely lacking

Need to make second reservation, but can’t

For some reason, you can only make one reservation at a time and have to wait until the end of the first reservation to make a second reservation somewhere else. Not smart.

LAX Sixt get your act together!

2hours+ long line on a Tuesday night. Only 4 agents, no automated process to get the car. It’s ridiculous. Get your act together!

The worst place for renting cars…

My experience renting my first car with Sixt was terrible and I felt like I got scammed I was given a car with some scratches on left side of the bumper but the person who walked me through the car at first he said this car has a small scratch and they don’t count as damage. However I rented the car for 2 days when the time of returning the vehicle to them, they accused me for the same scratches the car already had, and they charged me $1200 for something I have nothing to do with. But they can’t really prove anything at all, I have been renting cars from different places for the past 10 years and I have never seen something strange like this, I will never ever go back to this place again.

Double charged

Don’t rent from them, they charged me twice for the same rental and won’t give me a refund.

Terrible customer service!$

We booked a car on the app, even called to change the pickup time and spoke with them on the phone and they did not tell us the pickup location wasn’t doing same day bookings. We drove an hour and a half to the airport only for the very rude and unprofessional women at the desk to inform us that they haven’t been doing same day bookings at that location for 3 days now and turn us away. Drove an hour and a half back home, called to make sure it was cancelled which like the employees said it would be, it wasn’t. Now 2 days later my $1,600 is still on hold and we still haven’t made it to the beach before the kids go back to school. Horrible experience! DON’T BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY!

Makes no sense

Rented a car for 2-3 days off my card, then went to get the car and told me that I need bank documents and proof to take it(I had my ID and my name is literally on my card)…I traveled all the way to their facility just for them to tell me I can’t take the car. Also told me they was gonna cancel soon as I left the building because it’s a fee after 24 hours, same day they didn’t cancel till I called in and also charged me $200 when I already canceled before 24 hours. Had to call my bank for them to get my money back and also contact the company with proof they wrongfully charged and denied me of using their car

The best rental company in the world

Sixt is one of the best car rental companies around the world, and my experience has always been with them at Munich Airport, renting for every trip. Easy to deal with, professionalism and credibility. I recommend this company to you in all airports around the world from my experience with them.

Stay away. Total chaos!

For the second time in two weeks I am picking up a Sixt rental in Milan Maloneys T1 and I have waited more than 45 minutes because they don’t have any cars. Two weeks I waited an hour to get a downgrade and no refund. Never again!

avoid sixt for ride/taxi

taxi is fraud, overcharging, not starting the ride when they pick you up just to inflate the charge. so far no response from customer support

Unable to update name

SixT app doesn’t allow an update of the first name. The app pulls the name from some place but doesn’t allow the user to update it. For those of us that go by our middle name rather than our legal first name, this is a problem. SixT Customer Service can’t update the name either. Just a terrible workflow and oversight of a use case. Hard pass on SixT.

Car Subscription does NOT work in app

I have been trying to see SIXT car subscription option using this app, but only get an error message when I click the “subscribe” button.

Looking up cars 75 days out indicates no availability for my dates. If I shorten the date range just slightly, somehow cars become available. Are they really booked out 75 days or is their system erroring out on availability check? I suspect erroring out because… Entering e-mail login on an iPad causes the input to disappear and go back to login start if you do anything but type it out manually character by character. Username field not recognized by iPad for auto entry. Password field is also not recognized. Poor programming as this is very easy to adopt in app dev. Never could get logged in with all the flippy flip of screen stuff going on while trying to enter password. Login failed… thus rental failed and moved to next car company with an app done by professionals. Feels like a cheap web app.

Perfect service

Simple check out and check in. Customer service was fantastic. Super helpful decided we wanted to upgrade our vehicle. Was done without any issues. I would recommend Sixt car rental any time.

What a scam company!

Checked in 6 times

A complete waste of time. Checked in 6x and still couldn’t get the car at the garage. Back to terminal and spent nearly 1 hour just to get a car for 1 day. I’m SIXT Gold and cannot understand how they can publish a half-baked app like this.

This is my third time renting a car with SIXT, it has always been a pleasant experience.

Fraudulent and Pure Garbage!

I tried using the car rental in Berlin, however after repeated attempts, the identity verify feature simply refused to work! It would say “you’re good to go and you have successfully completed the verification process” and then when I would press activate it would simply make me do the entire verification process again despite having all appropriate documents. Pure trash, save your time and use a different car rental service in Berlin! These guys are scum and frauds!!

for any young drivers if you do not pay all there protection fees the will lie and excuse you of things they said i smoke cigarettes and the car when i dont smoke at all the also charged for a cleaning fee when i clean the car personally before returning the vehicle please be careful with this company i will never rent again

I had an exceptionally bad experience renting from Sixt last month. I have sent, re-sent, and even sent a third time a description of my experience. But alas, no reply! Not even from the station manager who gave me his email address? Why am I being ignored?

Customer service

My experience at sixt in nyc at LaGuardia was excellent . They went above and beyond to ensure my rental pick up went smoothly, took time to explain the process and requirements. I recommend using sixt it’s cheaper and higher quality than any of those other apps.

Horrible customer service!

Flight was delayed 2 hours so we missed our pick up time for our rental! I called ahead in advance to update it to ensure we got our requested vehicle as there was 6 in our group so we couldn’t risk being stuck with a compact when we rented a suv Their customer service is useless! Just a 3rd party outsourcing company in India who you can’t understand who can’t understand you & that’s had maybe 1 hour of training! Absolutely a joke! Horrible experience! This was the first time we used Sixt & I guarantee it’ll be the last! They’re not even much cheaper than the established brands (we saved $20 going through them vs Avis or Alamo) next time I’ll pay the $20 extra to avoid this horrible company!

Awful experience

This app cost my wife 3 hours of wait time at the rental kiosk. I made a reservation for her and uploaded her Drivers License. Because my card was used for the registration they wouldn’t let her pick up the car without me there. The app allows for the drivers license and payment info to be different however. The website states nothing about disallowing this either. The lack of a really simple app validation led to a really awful experience.

Be very careful

After a positive rental last year, I decided to try again. The cars may be nice but if anything goes wrong the customer service is terrible. No help, wrong information, finally after 2 weeks waiting for answers. I get a claim for twice the price of the rental. Damages agent basically told me I was lucky they could of charged me anything they wanted. Because I didn’t pay for the extra insurance. If I didn’t like it call customer service! Which still hasn’t responded to 5 inquiries over that span. Never again, beware.

Worst car rental experience ever

Avoid Sixt! This company has both unethical and dishonest practices. They take advantage of customers at every turn. Don’t risk getting scammed. My latest experience is with Portugal Sixt but I can only assume they are taught to use same dishonesty everywhere.

Ft Myers Customer Service

Our flight was scheduled to arrive at 11 pm. We landed an hour late due to a storm in Denver. We were de-iced . The app says our rental is one day over due. I called customer service and they told me they could do nothing. The girl behind the counter also said she could do nothing. We have always had great service with easy pick up and drop off. We gave our flight information to the rental company when we paid. What is the point? I am now in line at 1:00am trying to rent a car that I have already paid for!

Stay away from Sixt

App may be fine (I do not use it), but the company Sixt is horrible, making bogus insurance claims. My recommendation is to stay away from Sixt.
